Join the Newfound Lake Region Association (NLRA) and the Slim Baker Foundation as we explore animal tracks and sign. This event will be held at the Slim Baker Lodge at 301 New Chester Mountain Road, Bristol, NH on February 28 from 10 am to 12 pm. As snow covers the ground and winter’s cold pushes us indoors, it can feel like local wildlife are taking a break from the landscape as well, but they leave us all sorts of clues about what they are doing as they navigate winter. At Nature Station, educators will provide an introduction to local mammal tracks and then participants can explore the trails at Slim Baker to see which species have been there recently. Participants will also make a track viewer to use on future nature walks. This program is free and open to all.
Newfound Nature Station, along with other family programs and events, is part of NLRA’s year-round work to encourage residents and visitors to enjoy the natural beauty around them, learn more about the environment and how to protect it, and fall in love with the Newfound Watershed. By connecting the people of Newfound to the wonders around them, NLRA works to inspire the next generation of stewards and fulfill the mission of protecting Newfound Lake and its watershed.
