Learn all about beekeeping through the Pemi-Baker Beekeeping Association Beginner Bee School. Classes are geared toward beginner beekeepers and those interested in supporting pollinators.
Instruction includes bee biology, equipment and supplies, hive components, how to buy and install honeybees, hive management, products from the hive, pests and diseases and protecting hives from bears and other animals.
Cost of class is $60 per person and the price includes the book “Beekeeping for Dummies” and a one year membership to PBBA. There is a $15 fee for one additional adult family member who wishes to attend the classes (no extra materials provided).
Registration is now open for the Bee School, which will be held at American Legion Post 15 at 37 Main Street in Ashland on Saturdays, March 11, 18, 25 and, April 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 6 is the registration deadline.
